The St Ervan & St Merryn Branch of the Tree.

Francis Lanyon was the eldest son and heir of John Lanyon Esq. He married Alice Trewren but died in 1593. His son Richard never really settled at Madron.

The main branch of the Lanyon family in the 17th century.

This branch of the family moved north to family lands at St Ervan and St Merryn at the beginning of the 17th century. The lack of records in these parishes in the early 17th century makes it impossible to know what happened to the main branch of the family. There are likely to be descendants but we can’t say with any certainty who they are.
