In the 16th and 17th centuries the family broke into separate branches initially in West Cornwall and then further afield.
Some branches died out some thrived.
The locations of the main Lanyon branches in Cornwall.
The Redruth and Croydon branch came from the Helston branch. The Irish Branch possibly came from the Madron/Penzance Branch.
