The Morvah Branch began with William Lanyon who bought the Tregaminion Estate from his father and brother and moved there in 1589.
Morvah was just a few miles from the Barton of Lanyon near Madron. The estate came to the Lanyons when Sibyl de Tregamynyan married John de Lynyen in the 14th century.
St Bridget’s Church is the parish church in Morvah, the tower is the only mediaeval part of the church still standing.
