The Lanyons owned land in this area for many years but this branch of the family begins in the early 17th century when Richard Lanyon Esq moved his family to the area from Madron.
The parish records in St Merryn and St Ervan are deficient at this time and we quickly lose track of the family. There must be descendants but we can’t identify them.
